Moving to a new country for work or study is both an exciting and daunting experience. Immigrants face numerous struggles, from language barriers and cultural differences to finding suitable accommodation, insurance, and accessing essential services. 

Your mission is to develop innovative solutions that will make the lives of newcomers easier and facilitate their onboarding process into a new country.

About PERSIANS IN TECH BERLIN UNITED! 

PERSIANS IN TECH BERLIN UNITED! is a non-profit, informal, and independent initiative. 

We are a group of like-minded people from tech who want to socialize, network, build a community and work together to grow! 
 

We are a platform where people with Persian roots or Farsi-speaking backgrounds in Berlin come together to discuss tech and entrepreneurship, empower each other, and offer support through their skills, network, and knowledge to support others' dreams.

Currently, we are expanding in Canada & the Netherlands!

Consider how your team might use tech, AI, blockchain, cloud, and other technologies to facilitate new immigrants' journeys!

Project and Submission Requirements

A functioning MVP, No wireframes or Figma designs!

  • Please fill out the separate submission form.

  • You must upload a video for your submission (max. 3 minutes).

  • Please assign every team member to the corresponding team. 

  • Submit all the information and materials for your prototype to Devpost.

  • GitHub or other code repo link: Please ensure this link is publicly accessible.

  • The main jury and the jury of the sponsors will assess your projects on Devpost.

  • Wait for judging and results.

  • Technical Strength
    The degree of innovation demonstrated in the technical aspects of the solution. The solution's functionality and ease of use. What is the infrastructure? Is a source code repository being used? Is there documentation?
  • Feasibility
    Assessing Real-world Applicability, Scalability, Resource Needs, and Timely Impact of the Solution on Newcomers' Lives & Audience Needs.
  • Viability & Business
    How relevant is the prototype's use case to a real market or business problem? Can it be sold effectively?
  • User Experience
    Is the design easy to navigate and intuitive?
  • Originality
    Is the idea original and innovative?
  • Pitch
    Clear Conciseness: Precise problem, solution, newcomer value communication. Impact Relevance: Positive effect on immigrant challenges. Storytelling: Engagingly portrays newcomer journey, solution's pivotal role.
  • Bonus Points
    Inclusivity: Features for diverse immigrants, including differently-abled and marginalized. Sustainability & Impact: Long-term vision for project's lasting change, empowering newcomers.
